With centuries of history, traditional instruments carry
\nphysical vibrations shaped by human breath and touch.
\nIn contrast, electronic music generates vibrations
\nthrough inorganic principles such as electrical signals
\nand circuits. When the subtle tremors of traditional
\ninstruments resonate with the intricate tones
\nof electronic sounds in an improvised dialogue,
\nperformers from distinct realms expand each other\u2019s
\nlanguages, creating a new sensory experience.
\nThe project album Ancient Moment marks the first
\ncollaboration between the Korean contemporary music
\nensemble WhatWhy Art and the Seoul underground
\nelectronic music collective vurt.. It is a record of a free
\njourney where two different worlds collide and merge,
\nbreaking cultural boundaries and dismantling aesthetic
\nhierarchies.
\nIn Part 1 of the album, you will hear boundless
\nperformances by daegeum player Hong Yoo with
\nelectronic musician Unjin, and gayageum player
\nHwayoung Lee with ambient duo Hosoo.
\nThe recording was done in an improvised one-take
\nformat at STUDIO Y in Seoul, and Giuseppe Tillieci
\nmastering enhanced the sonic quality.<\/p>\n
